GNO at VL
Last night Hollie hosted her 1st "Girls Night Out" at Vinings Lake. I was able to go and had 2 girlfriends go with me, Kim and Heather. It went really well! The decor looked great...way to go Heidi and Sandi, great musical entertainment thanks to Sarah and Ryan, good food, beautiful and lovely m.c. named Hollie Hunt Hixson, and an interesting speaker named Shannon. The evening was all around a success. Now Hollie just has to recover from all the planning, stress and anticipation! I only ended up with one picture, but here it is for proof.
Good Job Hollie!

I Haven't Forgot I Have a Blog
We have had alot going on the last week. We left for Spring Break, and had an awesome week at the beach. College Spring Break was in it's peak week, and MTV was filming. The crowds were pretty contained to certain areas, so we could be around the craziness if we wanted or be on our peaceful part of the beach. There were some good concerts going on while we were there, so we liked that. We saw DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Pitbull and Kid Sister play one day. Then the last day we were there we saw 3 Doors Down perform live on the beach. It was pretty cool.
We also raced our 1st race of the season. Race day started out great. We were on the top of the speed charts after the practice sessions! WooHoo! Qualifying came and Justin wasn't happy with his run. We ended up qualifying 18th. Still ok cause there were 30 cars in the starting line-up. The set-up was never just right all night during the race. The air temp dropped alot between practice and race time, so that didn't help matters. Justin did an unbelievable job of missing several really bad wrecks, so we were appreciative of that! We finished 12th. Not the best ever, but better than we're giving ourselves credit for considering we're still working the bugs out of a new car and 41 good cars and drivers showing up for the weekend. Best of all, the car is all in one piece and ready to race again weekend after next! Go 98!
We arrived back in town at about 3 am Sunday morning. Just in time to sleep a few hours (well, I had already been asleep in my bed in the motorhome while Jake drove us home) and get ready for church on Easter. We had a great Sunday morning service. Jake's dad and Newsong sang, so that was fun. Dad had a great message (as usual) prepared for Easter. He looked cute in his pink shirt and tie! Nice tan too! Great attendance and all around great day! The fam got together for lunch at Mom's house and even had an egg hunt for the kiddos, thanks to Jake and Taylor who hid some of the eggs so good they couldn't find them themselves! We must have all had a little too much candy to eat...check out the slide show on Hollie's blog. Sugar, nervous energy, lack of sleep, all around goofiness...there's has to be some sort of excuse!
Monday morning arrived at our house to some sleepy babies and a sleepy Mommy and Daddy too! It was hard to get back to our routine the 1st day after a week off.
I hope everyone had a great Easter.
Have fun!

Spring Break '08
I have to hurry before Jake finds out I'm on the computer! I'm suppose to be finishing packing so we can leave. We are going to the the beach for Spring Break! Our kids have a early break this year, not in April like usually. We'll take it though, and enjoy having no schedule for a week! We'll come back home, jump on the motor home and be off to our race next weekend. We'll look forward to being back just in time for Easter Sunday. I sure hope the Easter Bunny can keep up with us and figure out where we are come Easter!
Have a great weekend!

Test Day in Hickory, NC
We left our house bright, wait no it was dark, and early at 6:00 AM. We drove to Hickory Motor Speedway to test the new race car for the day. I just love getting up real early in the morning...HaHa! I got straight into the very back seat of the Escalade with my pillow and blanket and did not wake up until we were well into South Carolina. Poor Jake had to drive though and in Atlanta work traffic. We made alot of progress testing. There were little things that had to be worked out and tweaked with since the car has just been built. Stuff you don't know about until you get it on the track and make some laps. It was also good for Justin, our driver, to have seat time to get comfortable in the car and with the track. We go back to Hickory next Friday for tech and practice then race day is Saturday! GO 98!

Hunt Family Outing
Hollie came up with the idea for her, me and Mom to take turns planning one night a month for the whole family to get together and do something fun. It's not like we don't ever get to see each other as it is, but this will be a planned thing that we'll have to look forward to. :)
So, Hollie's night was last night. We started out by having dinner at Kani House Japanese, yum. Then we all proceeded to go to the bowling alley in Woodstock. Dad didn't think he'd ever been there before in all the 21 and some years we've lived in Woodstock. Our family of 10 arriving there while leagues and "real bowlers" were bowling was definitely a sight to see. We got 2 lanes...one for the kids and one for the so-called adults. No one injured themselves, which is a miracle. I think in the end Addie beat Hollie, if that tells you anything about Hollie's bowling skills. After about the 6th or 7th gutter ball in a row she swore there was something wrong with her! Don't get me wrong...I wasn't much better, but I did beat her! I ended up with no pictures of the night, but Hollie took some and they are sure to show up on her blog soon.
I think the next outing is mine to plan. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

Atlanta Cup Race
Sunday morning after church about 14 of us went to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the race. It was a beautiful day, and we all had a good time...and sunburned faces prove to it, right Jen? Lindsey was able to come to this race, unlike when we went to Daytona. You better believe she was there...she wasn't about to let Taylor and us go to another one without her!
Now the next racing will be our 98 taking the track real soon!

Another 98 in the Making...
We are building a new race car for this season! Jake and the "boys" have been working hard this week trying to get it finished. Here's a picture from yesterday...the work in progress! As soon as they finish hanging the new body they'll get it set-up for the 1st track. We are planning a test day in Hickory, NC for one day next week to "shake it down" and get some practice laps. Our season starts March 22nd at Hickory Motor Speedway. I'm ready to feel the engines rumble and smell that racing fuel...there's not much else like it!
GO 98!

It's About Time
It's about time I finally update my blog. It has been over a week, but I don't know where the time has gone. We have been busy, but I don't know what we've been busy doing! I guess it was that exciting!
We had a pretty normal week...school, dance, choir and Awana, Jake and Carson worked on the quartermidget, I spent the day with one of my girlfriends...fun, regular "stuff". The week went by quick and was good, but the weekend was great! On Friday we went to PCB for the weekend. It was beautiful and warm. The new Pier Park has opened at the beach, so we hung out there Saturday night. We ate dinner at The Back Porch, which was yummy, and shopped around the new stores. I was excited about Ron Jon opening, so we had to check that out. If you are going to PCB anytime soon be sure to check out Pier Park. Alot of it is open now, but there's alot more to come. We all had fun on the beach hanging out for a couple of days.
Now it's Monday and we are back in Woodstock. Jake has a busy week planned and is looking forward to working on his race car. We are building a new car for this season, which starts March 22. Just more regular "stuff" for this week too. I hope your week is good. Have fun!
