Dinner at The Beacon

OK, we left yesterday for a race in Hickory, NC. We stopped in Spartanburg, SC to eat dinner at The Beacon. It's a place that's been around forever and supposably a famous place to eat in that area.It reminds me of the Varsity in a way because they yell out your order, but the people that work there have lots of character. I went before and bragged to my parents about our "experience" there, but they knew of it and said we actually used to go there when I was real little. Anyway, last night was great. It was me, Jake, the kids, Josh, Taylor and Lindsey. We sat down with our food and a lady came up and said they were closing soon so she wanted to take our trays. Lindsey thought she said take our food, so she told her that and said she'd have to bite her if she took away her burger cause she was hungry! The lady then said, "Oh well I'd have to bite you back... but that's not fair cause I gotta go home and get my TEETH first!" OH MY GOSH!! We almost fell out of our booth laughing! I couldn't hardly breathe. It was totally hilarious! Crazy stuff like that seems to always happen to us. The guy at the counter had already asked me what I wanted to drink, and after I told him sweet tea he said, "sweet and brown like me" over and over again and then added in more comments about how sweet he was. The Beacon is some good greasy burgers and fries and who knows what might happen while you are there!

The North Georgia State Fair

Oh my goodness! We had way too much fun last night!! Jake, me, the kids, Brian and Tonya, Hope & Lindsey, Kim, Alex, Eddie & Terrie, Dennis & Cindy, Marty, Ken & Ginger... we all went to the fair on opening night. We look forward to the fair coming all year long. It's so much fun riding the rides, eating all the good "fair" food, seeing the animals, and watching all the different types of people who work at the fair and who are at the fair! Katie and Carson's favorite ride was The Cyclops. Lots of adults were scared to ride it, but the kids thought it was the greatest thing ever. They rode it 5 times! I rode 2 times, and it really is alot of fun. We missed Hollie, Pete, and their girls not being there with us. They are with Mom and Dad in Orlando at the Timothy + Barnabas Conference. And Mom would have been disappointed that the monkey wasn't there this year! We head out tomorrow for Jake's Jubilee Conference in Gatlinburg, but I'm hoping we can go to the fair again next Thursday night... one more time before it leaves town!

It's Back

My computer is back!! And it actually turned on. The only problem is I have lots of updating to do. I have no pictures saved now and no emails or email addresses. I still need email addresses from you! I didn't have them all memorized. I just got home from a few days at the beach, so I have lots to do!

Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus

Jake is THE MAN! He got the kids tickets to the Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus show coming to Atlanta! Kim, Jody is the man too... even though he didn't get the tickets! HaHa
So the concert is not until November, but Kim (thank-you) told us about joining the fan club and being able to buy tickets during the pre-sale which is 4 days before tickets go on sale to the public. Thanks to her we did that, got online yesterday morning at 10:00, and Jake got us 4 tickets. And Kim, I have a good feeling about Jody being able to get ya'll tickets on Saturday morning. You know he's determined after yesterday!!
The show is November 28th, after the Thanksgiving holiday, so the kids will have something to be looking forward to!

Win #2

Our little man raced again this past weekend and WON his second race in a row! Yay!! Mom and Dad came out to the track for the day and Addie came with us too. Ella and Vickie also came and stayed the day with us. We had alot of fun. I have some cute pictures from the day that I'll try and post soon.
His next race is this coming Saturday!!
Not that many who know me well doubt it, but I am addicted to racing through and through. I left little man's race about 6:30 pm and drove straight from Cumming back to towards the house and met Mom and Dad at Dixie Speedway. I watched Justin's Dad race... he started like 26th and moved all the way up to 4th, but then broke and scrubbed the wall! He was doing awesome. After I left Dixie I met the fam back at home and watched the Cup race until it ended at 11:45 pm.
Now that's a good day!!

My Hard Drive Crashed!

First Hollie loses her camera, now my hard drive crashes in my little computer!! I can't function without my computer! My life is on that thing! HAHA! I do have 2 other computers in the house, but it's just not the same.
I couldn't continue to let my blogspot suffer, so I figured out how to post from this one. I'm not sure about putting pictures on here, but I'll worry about that later!
Jake sent my computer off to California today, so hopefully it will be back soon.
Everyone needs to send me their email address! I don't have them memorized and now they are all GONE! Along with pictures and who knows what else.
Okay, I'll stop whining now.

Especially for Hope, Addie, Emme, and all our "Little" Friends

Our kids might have out-grown the Veggie Tales, but I made them still get their picture taken with Bob and Larry! Bob and Larry made a special appearance this weekend at our condo building. They posed for pictures with the kids and gave out DVD's and other prizes. You know those people had to be some kind of HOT in those outfits!
The other picture is the kids with their friends Emma and Olivia. Their grandparents own the condo next door to ours, so we have gotten to be friends with them and their family this summer.

Happy Birthday (Late) Jake

I'm so behind! Thursday was Jake's birthday! Birthdays seem to not be as big of a deal the older you get, but we can still make it a big deal. :) The night before his birthday we went out with some friends for dinner, then on his birthday we had lunch with Jake's parents, my parents, and Hollie and Pete. After the kids got out of school we headed to the beach for the long Labor Day weekend. Happy, Happy, Happy BDay to Jake and many more.....
